The Ardeca Bag-in-Box Rack for Workshop Oil Dispensing

05 November 2026

The Ardeca Bag-in-Box rack gives workshops a fixed place to dispense oil from 20-litre packs. The box stays on the rack while the technician draws the oil needed for a service. An optional pouring can, available to order with the rack, carries the oil from the dispensing point to the vehicle.

Organising lubricants on the Bag-in-Box rack

When a workshop stocks several engine oils, the most useful detail on the rack is a clearly visible product label. Two oils marked 5W-30 can carry different manufacturer specifications. Give each product a consistent position and keep its full name visible so technicians can match the oil to the job before dispensing.

Choose a location with enough room to put the pouring can beneath the outlet and lift it away without tilting it. When replacing an empty box, check the incoming product against the rack label. This small step matters most when two boxes look alike or carry the same viscosity grade.

How the 20-litre Bag-in-Box works

Each Ardeca Bag-in-Box holds 20 litres of lubricant in a flexible plastic pouch inside a stackable cardboard carton. The carton gives the pack its shape on the shelf. As oil is dispensed, the pouch collapses, helping the workshop draw out the remaining lubricant without having to lift and tip a rigid 20-litre container.

Less plastic waste and better cardboard recycling

For the same 20 litres of oil, Ardeca’s Bag-in-Box generates 92% less plastic waste than its conventional 20-litre plastic container. The cardboard carton provides the rigidity needed for storage, so the oil itself can be held in a lightweight pouch. Read more in Ardeca’s 20-litre Bag-in-Box overview.

When the pack is empty, remove the pouch before flattening the carton. Keeping the cardboard clean, dry and separate from the oil-contact packaging helps preserve the fibres for recycling. Flattened cartons also take up less room in the workshop between collections. Follow your waste contractor’s instructions for the empty pouch and any oil-stained cardboard, as acceptance depends on the local collection system.

Using the optional oil pouring can

The pouring can connects the rack to the service bay. Leave the box in position, place a clean can under the outlet and draw the quantity required for the job. Close the outlet before moving the can, then take the oil to the vehicle and follow the manufacturer’s filling and level-check procedure.

Where several lubricants share a rack, dedicating a labelled can to each product helps prevent residual oil from mixing with the next fill. Use the full product name on the can, just as on the rack. That way, the technician at the vehicle can still identify the oil after the original box is out of sight.
